Barcelona targets striker to replace Brazilian Vitor Roque’s possible departure

At Barcelona since January this year, Vitor Roque played just 353 minutes in 16 games. Despite the arrival of Hansi Flick, there is a possibility of the 19-year-old being loaned. Therefore, the club is already looking to sign Borja Mayoral, formerly of Real Madrid and now at Getafe, according to the newspaper AS.

Vitor Roque had few opportunities with Xavi at Barcelona. Signed for 74 million euros after standing out for Athletico-PR, the striker was unable to convince the Spanish coach. In 16 matches, the young Brazilian scored just two goals and made no assists.

Borja Mayoral is 27 years old and is Getafe’s star player. The striker was sold for 10 million euros by Real Madrid to his current club and had a great season. Despite suffering a meniscus injury in March that left him out of the rest of La Liga, he was one of the two Spaniards with the most goals in the competition (15) alongside Atletico Madrid’s Morata.

According to Spanish media, Borja Mayoral is aware of Barcelona’s interest and welcomes a possible transfer to the team currently supported by Polish star Robert Lewandowski.
