In their last preparatory friendly for the Euro Cup, held this Saturday afternoon, Denmark beat Norway 3-1. Top scorer Erling Haaland, Manchester City star, left his mark at Brondby Stadium.
Denmark’s goals were scored by Pierre Hojbjerg, Jannik Vestergaard and Yussuf Poulsen, while Haaland scored for Norway, who are not qualified for the Euros.
Denmark’s next match will be against Slovenia, on June 16, for their debut in the continental tournament. Norway, in turn, will only return to the field on September 6, against Kazakhstan, in the Nations League.
With 12 minutes on the clock, Hojbjerg hit a beautiful left shot from the edge of the box to open the scoring for Denmark, who had been dominant until then.
Shortly afterwards, in the 21st minute of the first half, Vestergaard rose above the defense after a corner kick and headed the ball home for the Danes.
In the 22nd minute of the second half, Haaland received a pass from Odegaard inside the area, dominated and scored, but saw his goal canceled due to interference from his teammate Andersen, who was in an offside position and participated in the play.
The cancellation was not enough to shake the Norwegian top scorer. He received a deep pass from Odegaard, dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored a beautiful goal in the 27th minute of the second half.
At lights out, at 45, the Norwegian goalkeeper made a passing error that ended at Kristiansen’s feet. The left-back then crossed for Poulsen to seal Denmark’s victory.
