Rubin player Bezrukov about the fine: there are jokes for 300, and there are jokes for 100 thousand
Rubin Kazan midfielder Ruslan Bezrukov reacted to a fine for a joke after the Russian Championship match against Zenit St. Petersburg. His words are quoted in the Telegram channel “This is football, brother!”
Bezrukov thanked the fans for their support and kind words. “Since I’m such a joker, I want to tell you another joke of mine from my solo album: there are jokes for 300, and there are jokes for 100 thousand rubles,” he added.
On June 4, the ethics committee of the Russian Football Union decided to punish Bezrukov: the player was suspended for three months and fined 100 thousand rubles. The committee found a violation of ethical standards in the football player’s statement about the cash bonus.
On April 24, Bezrukov jokingly demanded a bonus from Krasnodar for defeating Zenit in a Russian championship match. After this, Rubin announced that it had taken disciplinary action against the player. The club apologized for his words and called them unacceptable.
