Porto announced, this Friday, its new coach: Vítor Bruno, former assistant to Sérgio Conceição, who left command of the Dragons after seven years at the helm of the Portuguese club.
Confirming the information that had been released by the press in recent days, Bruno, a 41-year-old Portuguese coach, was presented to the press alongside the club’s new president, former coach André Villas-Boas, elected at the end of April to succeed Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, who had held the position for 42 years.

Conceição had recently renewed his contract with Porto, but Pinto da Costa’s electoral defeat precipitated the coach’s departure, which was reportedly arousing interest from Olympique de Marseille and several Italian clubs, according to the press.
With the Dragons, Conceição has a balance of 11 titles, the last of which was a Portuguese Cup won on May 26th with a victory over Sporting (2-1), in addition to three Leagues (2018, 2020 and 2022).
However, this season Porto finished in 3rd place, 18 points behind champion Sporting and 8 behind Benfica, 2nd place.
