Former American boxer Kevin Johnson explained the Americans’ love for the former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
“He’s just that kind of guy. He is humble, down to earth, open-minded and at the same time a warrior!” – said the athlete. He agreed with former US President Donald Trump that Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest fighters of all time.
Trump previously called Nurmagomedov one of the greatest fighters of all time. He spoke about his meeting with the athlete at the UFC tournament in New Jersey, calling Nurmagomedov a very smart guy who has a great future ahead of him.
Nurmagomedov defended the UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts.
On January 9, Johnson received a Russian passport. Before that, he changed his name in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The boxer noted that now his name will be Kevin Vladimirovich. He had 60 fights in the professional ring, in which he scored 36 victories.
