Islam Makhachev made fun of Jon Jones and proved leadership in the P4P rating
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Islam Makhachev made fun of American Jon Jones due to disputes about their place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranking, regardless of weight categories (P4P). He posted a story dedicated to this on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
Makhachev shared an infographic highlighting the fights of both fighters from 2021 to the present. The Russian fought eight fights, the American – one, all of them ended in victories. “Sorry,” Makhachev sarcastically signed this statistic, proving his leadership in the P4P ranking.

Earlier, UFC head Dana White called those who consider Makhachev the best P4P fighter crazy. “As long as Jones continues to fight and is in the rankings, no one else can be considered the best,” he said.
On June 2, Makhachev defeated American Dustin Poirier in the main bout of UFC 302. The Russian won by submission in the fifth round and defended the UFC lightweight champion title for the third time.
32-year-old Makhachev won the 26th victory of his career with only one defeat. Jones has 27 wins and one loss.
