In the quarterfinal match, Andreeva beat the second racket of the world, Arina Sabalenka. The meeting ended in three sets with a score of 6:7 (5:7), 6:4, 6:4. The tennis players spent 2 hours and 30 minutes on the court.
The 17-year-old Russian interrupted the winning streak of the Belarusian, who had previously not lost a single set out of 23 at Grand Slam tournaments. In the next match, Andreeva will play with the 15th racket of the world, Italian Jasmine Paolini.
