The fight between Russian boxers Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev will take place on October 12, 2024. The new date of the fight became known to the Sport-Express publication.
The fight is expected to take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). “The contract for this date was signed, Dmitry agreed to this date,” said Bivol’s coach Gennady Mashyanov.
Initially, the fight for the title of absolute world light heavyweight boxing champion was supposed to take place on June 1. However, Beterbiev suffered a torn meniscus and the fight was postponed.
33-year-old Bivol won 23 victories and did not suffer a single defeat in his professional career. He holds the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) world champion belts.
Beterbiev is a world champion according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO). During his career, the 39-year-old athlete won 20 victories and did not suffer a single defeat.
