After long soap opera, Real Madrid announces signing of Mbappé

One of the biggest football soap operas in recent years has come to an end. Kylian Mbappé was announced this Monday afternoon as Real Madrid’s new player. The French striker finally agreed to go to Madrid after not renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

“Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement under which he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” says the Spanish club’s official statement.

Through his official profile on X, Mbappé spoke out for the first time as a Real Madrid player. The 25-year-old player published photos wearing Spanish club coats, one of them with Cristiano Ronaldo, when he was still a child.

A dream that came true. Very happy and proud to be part of my dream club, Real Madrid. AND It’s impossible to explain how happy and excited I feel right now. I can’t wait to see you Madridistas, and thank you for your incredible support. Hala Madrid”, said the striker.

Mbappé and Real Madrid signed an agreement for five seasons, until 2029. The striker arrives at the Spanish club free of charge, despite being one of the most valuable players in the world.

Wearing the Paris Saint-Germain shirt, Mbappé played 308 matches, scored 256 goals and provided 108 assists. At the French club, the striker won 15 titles: six French Championships, four French Cups, two French League Cups and three French Super Cups.

Mbappé will join the Spanish club after competing in the European Championship with France. At Real Madrid, the Frenchman will join players like Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Endrick, the latter also recently arrived at the Merengues.
