Itxaso Uriarte will continue in the Athletic Club by extending the footballer’s contract for one season, with another optional depending on objectives. The Gasteiz midfielder has played a total of 25 games, 18 as a starter, and has reached the figure of 79 official matches since its arrival in the summer of 2021.

The gasteiztarra was a fundamental pillar for David Aznar at the beginning of the season, until she underwent surgery in April for meniscus disease in her right knee, for which she will be restored for the next campaign. Itxaso was formed in Aurrera of Vitoriafrom where it went to Real societyin which he played for a decade before signing for the Athletic Club.

Jon Uriartepresident of Athletic Club, and Xabi Arrieta, sports director of Women’s Football, were present at the signing ceremony, held at the Ibaigane Palace. Itxaso has been happy to be able to extend his career as a zurigorri: “I have felt very good on the pitch, with more minutes and prominence, I feel like a better footballer.”
