Mexico defeated Bolivia 1-0 in a preparatory game for the Copa América-2024 on Friday (31), at the Soldier Field stadium, in Chicago, in front of 52,300 fans.
Efraín Álvarez, at the beginning of the second half (47′), scored the winning goal for Mexico, who entered the field with eight newcomers in the starting lineup.
In the second stage, the Aztec team led by Jaime Lozano made eight changes, including the addition of Luca Martínez Dupuy, striker from Rosario Central, who also debuted for the main team.
The Bolivian team started the match with 10 Bolívar players complemented by Miguel Terceros, Santos midfielder.
Throughout the match, the South American team led by Brazilian Carlos Zago made seven changes.

The Mexican team generated the only really dangerous play of the first half, in the 11th minute, with a left-footed shot by Ettson Ayón from the edge of the area, blocked by goalkeeper Carlos Lampe.
Just two minutes into the second half, Ricardo Monreal overcame the Bolivian defense on the left side, entered the area and sent the ball into the center where Álvarez made it 1-0 with a low touch and cross with his left foot.
In the 59th minute of the game, Bolivian Ramiro Vaca tried a left-footed shot from outside the area that went close to the right post.
Near the end (86′) Bolivia had the last chance with a shot by César Menacho that was saved by Mexican goalkeeper Julio González.
In the Copa América, Mexico will be in Group B alongside Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica. Bolivia will compete in Group C with the United States (hosts of the tournament), Uruguay and Panama. The top two teams from each of the four groups advance to the quarter-finals
In the next preparatory match, Mexico will face Uruguay on Wednesday, June 5, at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, in Denver. Bolivia will play their friendly against Ecuador on Wednesday, the 12th, at the Subaru Park stadium, in Chester.
