Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic said this Friday (31) that his team is confident and feels capable of beating Real Madrid in the Champions League final at Wembley.
“The finals are not played, they are won. That’s what I feel in these moments. But for that to happen we have to beat Real Madrid at Wembley. We want to have the trophy in our hands”, said Terzic at a press conference on the eve of the decision.
“Of course Real Madrid are the favourites, but that doesn’t matter to us. We weren’t favorites against Atlético either [de Madrid] and Paris Saint-Germain. Now is the time to be brave. We didn’t come here to see how Real Madrid lift another trophy”, warned the coach.
“The best things that happened to me in life were the ones I hadn’t planned,” said Terzic of Dortmund’s surprising appearance in the Champions League final.
Winning both semi-final games against PSG seems to have given confidence to the German team, who only finished in fifth place in the Bundesliga.
“We know we can beat anyone. We beat PSG twice. It’s great to reach the final knowing what we’re capable of,” said defender Nico Schlotterbeck.
