Courtois, who was out for practically the entire season after a serious knee injury, will return in place of Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, who has not yet traveled to London due to flu.

“Lunin had the flu and was unable to travel and train. He travels tomorrow [sábado] and will start on the bench. Courtois will be the starter”, replied Ancelotti at a press conference at Wembley.

Lunin did not accompany the Real Madrid delegation as a precautionary measure to prevent more players from catching the flu.

Courtois suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee in August last year and, in March of this year, he suffered a torn meniscus.

After a long recovery, the 32-year-old Belgian returned to the team at the beginning of May and, since then, has played four games, all in the Spanish Championship, without conceding a goal.

In his absence, Lunin took over in goal for Real Madrid and in the Champions League he was the hero of the quarter-finals against Manchester City, saving shots from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic in the penalty shootout.
