Sergey Karyakin called exclusion from the FIDE rating a technical issue
Russian chess player Andrei Karyakin responded to his exclusion from the ranking of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). His words are quoted by Match TV.
He called it a technicality. “I had no international parties during this period. You need to play one game to get back into the rankings. Is there a goal to return to the rankings? I don’t pay attention to him,” said the athlete.
Karjakin’s exclusion from the FIDE rankings for June became known earlier on Friday, May 31. In May he was ranked 12th on the list.
In February, Karyakin spoke about the threats he received after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. Last June, he gave a master class for fighters participating in the SVO. He played several chess games in one of the advanced areas.
