Ovechkin responded to the Finn who announced that Russia bought the victory at the World Cup

Ovechkin called it nonsense that the judges brought Russia’s victory at the 2014 World Cup

Russian striker, captain of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin in an interview with the YouTube channel “This is hockey, brother!” responded to Finnish journalist Pekki Jalonen, who announced the Russian team’s “bought” victory at the 2014 World Championships in Minsk.

The hockey player called it nonsense that the judges brought victory to the Russians. “This can’t happen. We were losing in the first half. How can you help?” — Ovechkin wondered.

Earlier, Jalonen said that domestic hockey players were clearly helped by the referees during the final match against the Finnish national team. The head coach of the national team, Erkka Westerlund, agreed with him.

Russian hockey players won the 2014 World Championship. In the decisive match, the team defeated the Finnish team with a score of 5:2. Ovechkin scored a goal in that meeting.
