Leeds United, from the English Second Division, announced this Thursday the club’s new partnership with Red Bull. In addition to now owning a minority part of the English team, the Austrian brand will have its logo as the main sponsor of the men’s and women’s team uniforms.
Despite not having full control over Leeds, the deal brings new commercial revenue as well as additional capital investment for the minority stake that will further enable the club to compete as they seek promotion to the Premier League next season.
“I’m thrilled that the Red Bull is joining us in building a bright future for Leeds United and who shares our deep respect for this truly special club. (…) The addition of Red Bull It is a historic milestone that will further enable the club to reach its full competitive potential,” said Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe.
