Roma striker Dybala reveals his curiosity about competing in the Spanish and English Championships

Roma forward Paulo Dybala spoke this Thursday about some issues regarding his future. Despite being happy in Italy, he admitted to being curious about competing in the Spanish and English Championships.

“I’ve been in Italy for almost 12 years and I’m living an incredible time. It’s difficult for me to see myself away from Italy because I’ve become a man here. Italy has given me everything. It would be difficult to leave, but obviously there is also the curiosity to know how I could behave in important championships like La Liga and the Premier League”, he said in an interview with The Athletic.

In the current season, Dybala played 39 games, scored 16 goals and provided ten assists. However, his performance was not enough to be called up by coach Lionel Scaloni for the Argentine team for the Copa América. The player admitted to being upset, but understood the coach’s decision.

“I felt like I did some good things this year. I was confident about making the national team, so it was a really hard blow for me because being part of the national team is one of the best things. But I also understand that it’s difficult for our coach to choose We have so many good players in teams across Europe and he has to choose 26. I respect his decision. I always told him that. I have a great relationship with him and he certainly chose the best for the team,” he said.

Despite this, the striker assured that he will be supporting Argentina.

“I’ll be cheering at home, as I always do when I’m not in the squad. I have many friends on the team and I hope with all my heart that they can win the Copa América again”, he reported.

Dybala was in the 2022 World Cup champion squad. The final of the competition against France was decided on penalties and the Argentine scored one of the penalties that guaranteed the title for his country.

“We had a wonderful group of players at that World Cup, a very united squad. Everyone shared the same goal. We all knew our role and what was expected of each other. When Argentina entered the field, 26 players became one . It was crazy. There was a very powerful positive energy that I have rarely seen in a group of players. For Lionel (Messi), it was definitely something special.
