This Thursday, Vincent Kompany, new coach of Bayern Munich, spoke about the reunion with striker Leroy Sané. They played together for Manchester City between 2016 and 2019, when the Belgian coach was still a defender and captain of the English team.
“At City, I was more than just a captain. So maybe things aren’t so different for Leroy than they were back then,” he said at his presentation press conference at the Bavarian club.

Furthermore, the commander also praised the 28-year-old German and stated that the treatment will be no different to other athletes.
“We had an unbelievable time together at Manchester City. He’s a very talented player. My job is to get the best out of Leroy Sané and all the players. I won’t make distinctions.”
Sané had great prominence playing for the Citizens. There, he had his two seasons with the most goal contributions, in 2017/18 and 2018/19. In the first, he scored 14 goals and gave 19 assists. The following year, he found the net 16 times and distributed 17 passes to goal.
Together, they won two English Championships, one FA Cup, two English League Cups and one English Super Cup.
