This Wednesday, Hansi Flick was officially announced as Barcelona’s new coach. The German spoke for the first time as coach of the Catalan club and appeared excited.
“First of all, I would like to thank everyone involved (in his arrival at the team). It is a great honor and also a dream to sign a contract as Barcelona coach,” he said in a video published on the team’s social media.
The commander, who replaces Xavi, who was fired last week, commented on his first impressions upon arrival at the Spanish team.
“I really want to start working at this incredible club. Since I arrived, I have seen that everyone loves this club and does everything possible for its success.”

Furthermore, Hansi Flick analyzed how his style of play and that of Barça relate to each other.
“The club’s philosophy fits very well with mine: ball possession and attacking football are aspects that I like,” he said.
The German coach also spoke about the quality of the squad, valued the youth teams and outlined the main objectives for the next season.
“Barça has one of the best youth teams in the world. In the main team there is a good mix between experienced players and talented young players”, analyzed Flick. “I think we have to work to be able to improve. This is our work together with Deco and President Laporta. To work together in this aspect, we have to focus on this task and I am happy to do it with these people.”
Finally, Flick recalled his moments of glory at Bayern Munich, in which he won the 2020 Champions League, one World Cup and two German Championships, and sent a message to the fans.
“I won some titles with Bayern Munich and I would like to continue that path in Barcelona. We can achieve a lot of things together and that is the most important thing,” he said. “Hello, culés, I really want to start this journey with you. Your support is very important and together we can achieve many things with this incredible team. Visca Barça.”
In addition to Bayern Munich, the coach also led the German national team, his last job, but he did not have the same success as with the Bavarian club team and was fired after poor results. Hoffeinhain and Bammental were the other clubs he managed.
