Barcelona already have a replacement for Xavi, who was fired last week. This Wednesday, the Spanish club announced the hiring of German coach Hansi Flick.
The new commander signed a contract with Barcelona until June 2026. He has been free on the market since last year, when he left command of his country’s national team.
“By hiring Hansi Flick as coach, Barcelona chose a man known for his teams’ high pressing, intense and daring style of play, which has brought him great success at club and international level, winning practically everything there is to win in the world of football,” the club wrote in a statement.

Hansi Flick’s most successful era was at Bayern Munich, where he was champion of the Champions League, the Bundesliga and the German Cup. Afterwards, the coach took over the German team, but did not have the same success and was fired after poor performances by the national team.
In the campaign that crowned Bayern with the Champions League title, a game that stood out was against Barcelona. In the quarter-finals of the competition, the German club, under the command of Hansi Flick, beat the Spanish 8-2.
