There will be a change in Barcelona’s technical command. Coach Xavi, fired last week, will leave the Spanish team after almost three years. To replace him, Barça agreed to hire the German Hansi Flick, who is already in Barcelona to sign with the Catalan club, according to the journalist Helena Condis.
“Hansi Flick is already in Barcelona. Flick has just arrived accompanied by his agent Pini Zahavi. He is waiting for Xavi to complete the termination of his contract to be announced as Barça’s new coach. Hansi Flick is here”, says the Spanish journalist’s publication.

The last few weeks have been busy at Barça. It all started in January, when Xavi announced that he would leave Barcelona at the end of the season. A month ago, the club’s president, Joan Laporta and the coach himself announced the turnaround and continuity of work at a press conference. However, in recent days, Xavi and the president entered a collision course, which ended with the dismissal of the Spanish commander.
Thus, Hansi Flick will be Barcelona’s new coach. The German coach had a good spell at Bayern Munich, where he won the Champions League in 2021 and won the German Championship twice. Afterwards, Flick managed the German team at Euro 2020 (held in 2021) and the 2022 World Cup, but the results were not good. The Germans did not make it past the group stage at the World Cup.
Barcelona will wait to agree on the termination of Xavi’s contract before announcing the German coach, which should happen in the next few days.
