Russian national team coach Kafanov said that Safonov corresponds to the level of PSG
The goalkeeper coach of Rostov and the Russian national football team, Vitaly Kafanov, assessed the compliance of Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov with the level of Parisian PSG. His words are quoted by TASS.
In his opinion, the Russian suits the French team. “Matvey has a very high level, I have no doubt that he will play there. The only thing is that Matvey will need some time to adapt to the French club,” said Kafanov.
The coach also appreciated Safonov’s prospects of winning the competition against PSG’s main goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnaruma. “Matvey will have chances – everything will depend on him. I didn’t want him to have this chance right away, from the first or second round, because there is still a difference between the Russian and French championships,” said Kafanov.
On May 25, it was reported that Safonov was close to moving to PSG. It was clarified that the clubs had reached a final agreement.
