Tedesco did not include Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois in the Belgium squad for Euro 2024
The head coach of the Belgian national team, Domenico Tedesco, announced the composition of the team to participate in Euro 2024. The list is published on the website of the Royal Belgian Football Association.
A total of 25 players have been called up to the Belgium national team. Tedesco did not include Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the team. During the qualifying tournament for the Euro in the summer of 2023, a conflict occurred between the football player and the coach.
Courtois, 32, missed most of the 2023/2024 season. In the fall he tore his cruciate ligament, and in the spring he suffered a torn meniscus. The goalkeeper returned to the field in May 2024 and played four matches in the Spanish Championship.
The European Championship will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. Ten cities will host the matches. Belgium will play in Group E with Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine.
