IIHF recognizes Kevin Fiala as Most Valuable Player of the World Hockey Championship
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has named the best players of the 2024 World Hockey Championship, held in the Czech Republic. This is reported on the organization’s website.
The MVP of the tournament was Swiss forward Kevin Fiala, who scored seven goals and made six assists in eight matches. The best goalkeeper was the Czech Lukas Dostal, and the best defender was the Swiss Roman Josi.
In addition to the above-mentioned players, the symbolic team of the tournament included Swedish defender Erik Karlsson, Canadian forward Dylan Cozens, and Czech forward Roman Cervenka.
The tournament ended on May 26, the gold medals were won by the hosts of the championship – the Czech team, which beat Switzerland in the final (2:0). The national teams of Russia and Belarus did not take part in the world championship by decision of the IIHF.
