In the Botkin hospital, they talked about the condition of the beaten Olympic figure skating champion Dmitry Solovyov. RIA Novosti reports.
According to the source, the athlete must still remain in the department. The doctors said that the skater is in a moderate condition.
Solovyov was beaten on December 21 in Moscow by two students from Chita when he stood up for his beloved, curling player Anna Sidorova. The moment of the attack was captured by a video surveillance camera.
A day later, a criminal case was initiated against the intruders under Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health, committed by a group of persons out of hooligan motives”). It provides for imprisonment for up to five years. If the state of health of Solovyov begins to deteriorate, the article can be re-qualified to a more serious one – 113 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, committed by a group of persons out of hooligan motives”). According to it, the attackers will face up to 12 years in prison.
