FLGR President Vyalbe spoke about the Russians’ chances of competing at the 2026 Olympics
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe assessed the Russians’ chances of competing at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. She spoke about this in an interview with Sport 24.
“Do I believe that our athletes will perform at the 2026 Olympic Games? I never read tea leaves. I am not clairvoyant to say whether we have athletes capable of winning medals there. You need to go there first,” Vyalbe said.
Earlier, Vyalbe called the head of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, scum. “If I ever see Bach, I will never shake his hand,” she emphasized.
At the Olympics in Paris in 2024, Russians and Belarusians will only be able to compete in a neutral status without a flag and anthem. In addition, such athletes must fulfill a number of conditions in order to be allowed to compete.
