“Botafogo informs that athletes Diego Hernández and Óscar Romero will return to activities with the main black and white squad, starting this Friday (26), at CT Lonier.”

The athletes were cut on May 13th. In total, they were left out of the team for two games. Botafogo won in both matches, played away from home. The first beat Universitario 1-0, last week, in the group stage of the Libertadores, and the second beat Vitória 2-1, last Wednesday, in the second leg of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil.

Romero arrived at Botafogo in March this year. The Paraguayan participated in nine games, only one as a starter, did not find the net and provided two assists. While Hernández arrived at Alvinegro in 2023. The Uruguayan has just one goal and one assist in 17 matches, seven of which were in the starting eleven.

Now, the duo should be available to coach Artur Jorge for the final round of the Libertadores group stage. Botafogo faces Junior Barranquilla next Tuesday, at 7pm (Brasília time), in Colombia. The duel is worth the leadership of Group D, as both teams have nine points.
