This Friday, Barcelona announced the dismissal of coach Xavi. According to the Spanish press, the coach who will replace him will be Hansi Flick, ex-Bayern Munich and Germany.
Xavi had announced in January this year that he would leave the team at the end of the season. However, after the competitions progressed, the Spaniard went back and said he would continue at the club in April. A month later, the scenario changed again and the commander was informed by management that he would leave his position.

The former player was informed by president Joan Laporta, at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the club’s training center, that he would not continue for the next season. The meeting was also attended by sports vice-president Rafa Yuste, sports director Anderson Luís de Souza, Deco, Òscar Hernández and Sergio Alegre.
In an official note, the club thanked the services provided by Xavi.
“FC Barcelona thanks Xavi for his work as a coach, as well as his inimitable career as a player and team captain, and wishes him all the success in the world in the future.”
The coach’s farewell will be this Sunday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Sevilla, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, in the last round of the Spanish Championship.
Barcelona also informed that it will announce the new technical committee in the coming days. According to the Spanish press, the new coach should be Hansi Flick. The German has been free on the market since last year, when he left command of his country’s national team.
Hansi Flick had a great time at Bayern Munich. The commander won the Champions League title with the team in 2020. In addition, he was champion of the German Championship twice. For Germany, the coach did not have the same success and was fired after poor performances by the national team.
