The Belgian cyclist of the team Soudal Quick-Step Tim Merlier ha cattlethis Thursday, the eighteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia in 2024to the sprintin Paduaahead of the Italian Lidl-Trek Jonathan Milan, leader of the points classification. The flat layout of the stage suggested that it could be resolved in a sprint, and so it was. In the last kilometer, Milan, the wearer of the Ciclamino jersey, who was looking for his fourth victory, has remained locked in the group, apparently without options; but he has demonstrated his strength and his ability, and, already in the final meters, it seemed that his fifth victory was going to be noticed. Tim Merlier passed him on his right, and stood on the podium in Padua as the winner.

On Friday, the nineteenth stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italia. With departure in Mortegliano and arrival in Sappadahas 157 kilometers of route, and three ports, two of them 2nd category, in its second half.
