Russian athlete Kagramanova spoke about her thoughts of competing for Kazakhstan
Russian race walking champion Reikhan Kagramanova spoke about a possible change of citizenship. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.
The athlete said that she was born in the Kazakh city of Tekeli, but she did not receive any offers to join the national team of this country. “But there were thoughts. But I somehow try to drive it all away,” said Kagramanova.
Kagramanova won the national championship on May 10 at a distance of 20 kilometers. Last season, the athlete covered the same distance at the National Cup in 1 hour 25 minutes 21 seconds, which could have been the best result of the season in the world. However, World Athletics refused to recognize the achievement.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris in a neutral status. At the same time, the head of World Athletics, Sebastian Coe, said that Russian track and field athletes will miss the Olympics.
