After undergoing knee surgery in November 2023, Neymar will not arrive in time to start the season for Al-Hilal, the Saudi club’s coach, Portuguese Jorge Jesus, announced this Tuesday.
“All I know at the moment is that the time needed for Neymar’s recovery and in general for this type of injury is 10 to 11 months,” declared the coach.
“If we do the math, he won’t be ready for pre-season preparation” that begins in the summer, Jesus added.
Neymar underwent surgery in November in Brazil due to a rupture in the cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee, after being injured in a national team game on October 17, against Uruguay, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The 32-year-old athlete left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2023 to play for Al-Hilal, where, according to the media, he would earn more than US$100 million (around R$512 million) per season, but where he played just a few weeks before the injury.
