Through its official website, Barcelona announced this Tuesday the contract renewal of Spanish star Alexia Putellas. Captain of the women’s Barça and the Spanish national team, Putellas signed a new contract with the Catalans until 2026.

The agreement signed for the next two seasons still has the option of renewal for a third year. Putellas is the main reference for women’s Barcelona at the moment. The 30-year-old athlete was twice voted the best player in the world, in 2021 and 2022.
Putellas is considered one of the greatest players in the history of women’s football. At Barça, she is the top scorer in the club’s history, with 189 goals. Furthermore, the midfielder is the third most played player in the history of women’s Barcelona, with 424 appearances. With the Catalan club, Putellas has already won an incredible 29 trophies.
Next Saturday (25), Alexia Putellas’ Barcelona will face Lyon, in the final of the women’s Champions League. The game starts at 1 pm (Brasília time), at the San Mamés stadium, in Spain.
