This Tuesday, Lautaro Martínez, from Inter Milan, claimed to be one of the best strikers today. The Argentine was one of the team’s main players in winning the Italian Championship title.
“Do I feel at the same level as Mbappé, Haaland, Lewandowski and Kane? Yes, I have nothing to wish for, the numbers and the trophies say that,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Some of them earned less than me. I have to continue working responsibly, as my father taught me, but I can sit at the same table as these greats”, he concluded.
In the current season, Lautaro played 44 games, scored 27 times and provided seven assists. The striker should also be the top scorer in the Italian league. With one round left in the competition, he has 24 goals, eight more than Dusan Vlahovic, from Juventus.
In total, the Argentine won a World Cup (2022), a Copa América (2021), a Conmebol-UEFA Cup, two Italian Championships, two Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups in his career.
Lautaro also praised Inter Milan’s new reinforcement for next season, center forward Mehdi Taremi, who was at Porto.
“I’ve faced him and seen many of his games. He’s a great striker, very technical and with a different way of playing. I think he could be a new Arnautovic due to his ability to take the team forward.”
In the 2023/24 season, the 31-year-old Iranian participated in 37 matches, scored ten goals and distributed seven assists.
