Ukrainian Usik will lose his IBF belt and the title of absolute world champion on June 1

Ukrainian Alexander Usik will hold the title of absolute world boxing champion for less than two weeks. Journalist Dan Rafael reported this on his page on the social network X.

On June 1, Usyk will lose his International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt because he will not defend his title against mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic. The Croatian will fight with Englishman Daniel Dubois.

Usik and Briton Tyson Fury fought for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion on the night of May 19 in Saudi Arabia. The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the victory of the Ukrainian by a split decision – 115-112, 113-114, 114-113.

Usik remained undefeated, winning his 22nd fight in the professional ring. The defeat was the first in Fury’s career; before that, he had 34 wins and a draw.
