Already champion, PSG beats Metz and ends the French Championship undefeated as a visitor

This Sunday, in an event valid for the 34th and final round of the French Championship, champion Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) visited Metz and won 2-0 at the Saint-Symphorien Stadium. Carlos Soler and Lee Kang-in scored for the visiting team.

With the victory, PSG, national champions for the 12th time, reached 76 points in 34 matches and ended the tournament undefeated away from home (13 wins and four draws). Metz is in 16th place, with 29 points and will now have to compete in the qualifiers against relegation.

PSG returns to the field on Saturday, at 4pm (BrasΓ­lia time), against Lyon, in the French Cup final, at the Stade de France. Information about Metz’s duel in the relegation playoffs, the team’s next game of the season, has not yet been confirmed.

PSG opened the scoring just seven minutes into the opening half. After receiving a short corner kick, Carlos Soler tried to cross towards the opponent’s goal. The ball then covered Oukidja, who was advanced and was unable to avoid the goal.

Minutes later, the Paris team increased the gap. At 12 minutes into the first half, Lee Kang-in received Asensio’s cross from the left and finished low, first time.

Qualified for continental competitions

With the end of Ligue 1, those classified for the next Champions League are: PSG (1st, with 76 points), Monaco (2nd, with 67) and Stade Brestois (3rd, with 61). Lille (4th, with 59) took the place in the Europa League and Nice (5th, with 55) will play in the Conference League.

Relegated

The teams already relegated in the French Championship are Lorient (17th, with 29) and Clermont (18th, with 25).
