Zenit coach Pascual: we angered the god of basketball
Zenit angered the god of basketball, for which he punished the team by not allowing it to reach the final of the VTB United League. This statement was made by Zenit head coach Javier Pascual, TASS reports.
“I believe in a basketball god. And since we didn’t reach the final, it means we did something wrong during the season, angered him and were punished,” Pascual said.
He congratulated CSKA Moscow coach Andreas Pistiolis on his victory in the semi-finals, noting that his club fought to the end, and the result of the match was decided by small details.
In March, Zenit St. Petersburg beat Nizhny Novgorod in the decisive match of the Final Four of the Winline Russian Basketball Cup.
Zenit won the Russian Cup for the first time in history. Previously, the team twice reached the decisive matches of the tournament, in which it lost.
