Spartak captain Dzhikia about leaving: if there was an offer, he would definitely stay
The captain of Spartak Moscow, Georgy Dzhikia, spoke about leaving the club at the end of the season. Journalist Sevastian Terletsky quotes his words in his Telegram channel.
“If there was any offer, I would definitely stay at the club. There was no story about finances or anything else. There’s already something more here,” noted 30-year-old Dzhikia.
According to him, after former head coach Guillermo Abascal left the team, the likelihood that he will remain at Spartak has increased. At the same time, the capital club did not make an offer to the captain for a new contract.
On May 18, it became known that Jikia would leave Spartak at the end of the current Russian Premier League season. The defender joined the red-white squad in 2016. In total, Dzhikia played 214 matches for the Muscovites. Together with the club, he won the Russian championship, as well as the country’s Cup and Super Cup.
