Former Corinthians, Murillo is named Nottingham Forest’s best player of the season

Brazilian defender Murillo, formerly of Corinthians, was named Nottingham Forest’s best player of the season this Saturday. The 21-year-old was chosen in a vote carried out by the English club’s fans.

In total, Murillo played 35 games this season, starting every game in the English Championship since joining the team in October last year.

In the announcement, the club highlighted the Brazilian’s quality in marking and his ability to create plays, despite being a defender.

With Murillo’s help, Nottingham Forest should remain in the Premier League. The team occupies 16th place, with 29 points, three more than 17th placed, Luton Town.

The distance in goal difference (12), the first tiebreaker criterion, means that Nottingham Forest reaches the last round of the league with a very high chance of remaining in the first division.

Nottingham Forest takes to the field this Sunday, at 12pm (Brasília time), against Burnley, at the Turf Moor stadium, in the 38th round of the English Championship.
