Boxer Kovalev fought for the first time in two years and lost

Boxer Sergey Kovalev lost to Swede Robin Safar by decision

Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev lost to Swede Robin Safar in a cruiserweight bout in Saudi Arabia. The results are available on Sports.ru.

The fight took place in Riyadh and lasted all ten rounds. It ended with Safar winning by unanimous decision. In the last round, Kovalev was knocked down.

In the main fight of the evening, Briton Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Alexander Usik will meet. For the first time in boxing history, four world champion titles will be competed for at once: according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight titles.

Kovalev fought for the first time since 2022. Then the Russian defeated the Bulgarian Tervel Pulev by a judge’s decision.

In total, Kovalev has 35 victories, 29 of which by knockout, and five defeats. One match involving a Russian ended in a draw. Safar won his 17th victory in the professional ring.
