Juventus announces the dismissal of coach Massimiliano Allegri

Through its official website, Juventus announced this Friday the dismissal of coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Italian coach won the Italian Cup against Atalanta just two days ago.

“Massimiliano Allegri is no longer coach of Juventus FC”, says the official Juventus publication on X.

In the note released by Juventus (see the full note at the end of the article), the Italian club links the coach’s dismissal with his behavior in the Italian Cup final, against Atalanta. Allegri was sent off and argued heavily with the fourth referee as he left the field. Because he didn’t agree with the referee’s decision, the coach ripped off his suit and tie and threw them on the floor.

“The dismissal follows certain behaviors during and after the Italian Cup final, which the club considered incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behavior that those who represent it should adopt.”, Juventus said in an official statement.

Allegri has ended his second spell at Juventus. The Italian coach was in charge of the Turin team from 2014 to 2019 and then from 2021 to 2024. Adding the two periods, the coach won the Italian Championship five times, the Italian Cup five times and the Italian Super Cup twice.
