14-year-old Argentine broke Maradona’s record

14-year-old Argentinean Mateo Apolonio broke Diego Maradona’s record

Argentinean Mateo Apolonio broke the records of Diego Maradona and Sergio Aguero when he made his senior debut for Deportivo Riestra at the age of 14. This was reported by TyC Sports.

Apolonio came on in the 84th minute of the Argentine Cup round of 16 match against Newell’s Old Boys, Lionel Messi’s former team. Diego Maradona made his first professional appearance for Argentinos Juniors 10 days before his 16th birthday, while Sergio Aguero made his debut for Independiente when he was 15 years and 35 days old.

The appearance of 14-year-old Apolonio did not help Deportivo escape from elimination from the Argentine Cup. His team lost to Newell’s Old Boys with a score of 0:1.

Previously, Belarusian Minsk was recognized as the youngest club in Europe. The average age of its players is 21.1 years.
