Klopp talks about the last week at Liverpool: “The most intense of my life”

Coach Jurgen Klopp’s time at Liverpool is getting closer and closer to ending. In a press conference this Friday, he told how his last week at the club has been and revealed what he is feeling about Sunday’s game against Wolverhampton, which will mark the coach’s last match in charge of the Reds.

“Definitely the most intense week of my life. I said goodbye so many times this week, to so many people. We don’t need to pretend it’s a normal week, because it’s not. But on the other hand, looking at the game, I already said this week, I’m a very pragmatic person. This is the last game of the season, and after that it’s vacation”, he said.

“The players said goodbye in their own way, we had a barbecue here which was really cool. I was also with the people from Chapel Street, which was really, really cool. After that, I was at the stadium, at another farewell celebration. I had very emotional moments, of course. I’m not sure how many shirts I signed,” he added.

Klopp also gave a brief analysis of his nine-year spell at Liverpool. He highlighted that he could have been even more successful.

“I know we could have won more, but I can’t change that anymore, so I’m absolutely fine. We could have won less, that’s also possible. Not being champion by one point is not a great experience [como aconteceu na Premier League], but it is an experience. This won’t be in the history books, obviously,” he said.

With one round left in the English Championship, Liverpool has no more chances of moving up or down in position. The team occupies third place, with 79 points won.
