The IOC banned Russian journalists from using the country’s symbols at the 2024 Games
Russian journalists have been banned from using the country’s symbols at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. TASS reports this with reference to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
“Media personnel are subject to the same requirements as neutral athletes,” an IOC spokesman said.
Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the 2024 Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11, as individual neutral athletes. Athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the tournament. In addition, there will be no representatives of the two countries’ team sports in Paris.
Russians and Belarusians will be able to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics. However, they are prohibited from participating in the parade of delegations.
