Ederson will miss Manchester City’s last two games of the season

Through its official website, Manchester City confirmed that goalkeeper Ederson will be absent from the English club’s last two games. The Brazilian player suffered a small fracture in the ocular socket of his right eye.

“We can confirm that Ederson will miss the last two games of the season due to a small fracture in his eye socket. Everyone at the club wishes Ederson a speedy recovery,” says City’s official publication on X.

Ederson was injured in the match against Tottenham, last Tuesday. In the second half, the goalkeeper collided with Argentine defender Romero and fractured his eye socket. After the shock, the goalkeeper was unconscious and was replaced by German Stefan Ortega, who is expected to play in the next two matches.

Ederson’s injury is also a concern for the Brazilian team. The goalkeeper was called up by Dorival Júnior for the Copa América in the United States in June. Players called up who play in Europe must report to the CBF on May 30th.

Manchester City has two more commitments ahead of the season. This Sunday, Ederson’s club faces West Ham at home, at 12pm (Brasília time) in the last round of the English Championship. Guardiola’s team can win an unprecedented four-time championship in the history of English football.

Then, on 25/05, Saturday, City will face United in the Manchester derby, in the FA Cup final. The game is scheduled for 11 am and will take place at Wembley Stadium, in London.
