Zenit player Alip apologized to CSKA goalkeeper Torop for the injury
Zenit St. Petersburg defender Nuraly Alip on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) apologized to CSKA goalkeeper Vladislav Torop for seriously injuring him.
“I would like to wish him good health with all my heart. I’m very sorry and worried that this happened,” said the footballer. He added that he was going for the ball and did not want to intentionally harm Torop. Alip expressed hope that the goalkeeper will soon be able to return to the field.
On May 15, Torop was seriously injured in the semi-final match of the Russian Cup against Zenit, in which the army team lost to the team from St. Petersburg in a penalty shootout and were eliminated from the tournament. The fractures were the result of a head-on collision with Alip.
After this, Torop said that he did not lose heart. However, he added that he did not feel well.
