The referee complained about the suspension because of “one big club not from Moscow”

Football referee Stanislav Vasiliev commented on the life suspension from work at the matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL). His words are quoted by “Championship.com”.

“I am sure that the decision to remove me from refereeing for life is largely due to one big club not from Moscow. The RFU simply found a reason to remove me, ”the referee said. Vasiliev considered that serious mistakes made against a certain team led to his disqualification, since it was impossible to make mistakes against this club.

In September, Portuguese Vitor Pereira replaced Hungarian Viktor Kashshai as head of the RFU refereeing department. It was reported that the replacement was associated with a desire to improve the quality of the work and qualifications of the acting judges.

In May, the chairman of the RFU Referee Committee Ashot Khachaturyants announced that Vasiliev was suspended from work in the matches of the Russian championship after he mistakenly did not assign a penalty to Rotor in the 85th minute of the match against Akhmat. Later Vasiliev was suspended from work in the RPL for life.
