Ignashevich named Fedotov’s likely successor as CSKA head coach
Sergei Ignashevich has been named as the likely successor to Vladimir Fedotov as head coach of the CSKA football club. RB Sport reports this.
According to the publication, the current coach of CSKA Vladimir Fedotov will most likely lead Rubin Kazan after the end of the current season. The club from the capital of Tatarstan does not plan to renew the agreement with Rashid Rakhimov, who is now the coach of Rubin.
Fedotov’s contract with CSKA runs for another year, but it may be terminated early due to the unsatisfactory results of the army team this season. The Moscow team currently ranks sixth in the Russian Championship; CSKA failed to defend its title in the Russian Cup.
Ignashevich coaches Baltika Kaliningrad. During his playing career, he played for CSKA from 2004 to 2018. With the army club, he became a six-time champion of Russia, a seven-time winner of the country’s Cup and Super Cup, and also a winner of the UEFA Cup.
