Kafelnikov was called an enemy of the people and urged not to be allowed to attend the tournament in Kaluga

Olympic tennis champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov was called an enemy of the people in the Russian region and was called to be excluded from the list of invited guests for the children’s tournament. The SHOT Telegram channel writes about this.

Several parents of competition participants in Kaluga expressed confidence that the tennis player had turned into an enemy of the people because of his anti-Russian position. The complaint draws attention to Kafelnikov’s publications, in which he spoke out in favor of imposing sanctions against Russia, spoke about the slave consciousness of the Russian people and opposed the implementation of the SVO.

Residents of the Kaluga region turned to social activists from the “Call of the People” movement with a request to help protect their children from Kafelnikov. They, in turn, sent a request to the head of the region, Vladislav Shapsha. The appeal states that Kafelnikov used to be a respected athlete, but now he can be put on a par with foreign agents Maxim Galkin and Andrei Makarevich, despite the fact that he remained to live in Moscow.

Previously, Kafelnikov supported Russian tennis players who changed their sports citizenship. “An athlete cannot wait for the weather by the sea, wait for the political situation to change and for us to be returned to world sport under the same conditions as before,” noted the former number one in the world ranking.
