Sergei Bobrovsky from Florida was recognized as the third star of the match against Boston

Russian Florida Panthers goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky was recognized as the third star of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff match against the Boston Bruins. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

Bobrovsky reflected 26 of the opponent’s 28 shots on his own goal. This did not help Florida; the team with a Russian goalkeeper in its lineup lost in the fifth match of the series against Boston with a score of 1:2.

Boston took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-five series. The sixth meeting of the second round of the NHL playoffs will take place on May 17.

Previously, Bobrovsky was among the top 3 contenders for the Vezina Trophy, the prize for the best goalkeeper of the season in the NHL. The Russian has been playing for Florida since 2019; last season, his successful play allowed the club to reach the Stanley Cup final, where Florida lost to Vegas.
