Botafogo does its first training session in Peru to face Universitario in the Libertadores

This Tuesday, Botafogo held its first training session in Peru, at the Complejo Deportivo Esther Grande de Bentín, in Lurín. The team is preparing for this Thursday’s duel, against Universitario, in the fifth round of the Libertadores group stage. The ball rolls at 7pm (Brasília time), at Estadio Monumental U.

In photos released by the club, the players, including starters in the last match, such as Júnior Santos, Savarino and Damián Suárez were seen carrying out activities with the ball.

It is worth remembering that Botafogo announced last Monday that, for discipline reasons, midfielders Óscar Romero and Diego Hernández were cut. So, both of them didn’t even travel to Peru.

Botafogo is looking for the second consecutive victory in the Libertadores, as in the last duel, they beat LDU at Nilton Santos. However, the team lost their first two matches in the competition.

Thus, Fogão finds itself in second place in Group D, with six points. On the other hand, Universitario is third, with five wins.
